McCain Is Dead Spam
By Graham Bateman | November 6, 2008
Not to be outdone by Obama malware, McCain spam emails are appearing in inboxes around the world.
Junk mail messages doing the rounds claim either Barack Obama or John McCain are dead in order to trick the credulous into visiting Canadian pharmacy websites. The messages, masquerading as breaking news, include subject such as “Barak and McCane killed”, “McCane died of heart stroke” and “McCane’s wife private video” - all reproduced here verbatim.
Most of the emails are pharmacy spam but some of them do lead to sites that try to install Trojans.

I’m curious as to how I can “Buy Download and Install Right Now” when you clearly state that I can download a 1 GB application within 1-2 hours of purchasing. Does this mean that I can download the software 1-2 hours after purchasing it, or that a 1 GB application will have finished downloading in 1-2 hours after purchasing? Does this apply to dial up users?
Why do you keep the software on “super-fast servers” but host your website on Geocites, which by the way says your website is “Unavailable”?

Here’s some advice, buy a version of MS Word from your store and use it’s spell checker when you write your spam. No one has to know you bought it, the purchase is “Private & Confidentail” after all.
For some reason, when I click the link to your website, I am quarantined. Do I have a disease that I am not aware of?
Buying software through spam is hard, think I’ll stick to eBay.
Obama Malware
By Graham Bateman | November 6, 2008
Just a warning to be on the lookout for Senator President Obama themed malware that’s now racing across the net. Last thing you want to be doing is removing trojans during Inauguration Day.
One piece of spam alleges to contain a link to video of Obama’s acceptance speech. If you follow the video link within the e-mail message you will be taken to a Web page where you’ll be asked to update your Adobe Flash Player with a file, adobe_flash9.exe, first. This is not an official Adobe update file and downloading this file may in turn infect your computer with a Trojan.
Remember to say no to any email that asks to install something to view a video.

Uuemy777gold.com Spam
By Graham Bateman | October 28, 2008
Those who are sending spam aren’t even checking if whatever they are promoting exists.
I’ve been getting a lot of emails recently from uuemy777gold.com, here are some of the emails I have received.
Alexis Daniel
I just bought a 2008 Mercedes Benz…This is gonna be a great year!
Shame there’s only two more months left in the year Alexis. I’m not sure how you waving your new car in my face is going to convince me to visit uuemy777gold.com, I’m just going to curse you while I’m stuck in traffic in my 1979 Ford Escort.
Ado Day
Ever fell in love? You’ll fall in love with this casino! Fat gift of $2400 no strings when you enter, your favorite Vegas games at your fingertips, USA players accepted, easy, secure payments, fast withdrawals. It’s Valentine’s Day for all our guests!
It’s a shame I won’t wont fall in love with the casino because don’t live in the USA. I live in a country where “International Growl Like a Pirate Day” is more widely celebrated than Valentine’s Day.
Abdullah Boone
My bank account is the size of Texas….
Going by this email, your ego is the same size.
Alasteir Cook
I have so much money I wanna give you some.
I love getting something for nothing, you’ve convinced me to click the link…… and it’s dead. I’ve been getting all these casino Spam emails with dead links. I’m very disappointed. Hey Alasteir, I still want your money, contact me.
“elite-russian-girls4you” Spam
By Graham Bateman | October 20, 2008
Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of spam from “elite-russian-girls4you.biz”
I don’t mind these emails as they nice change of pace from the 100 or so Viagra Spam emails I get a day, the problem is I either don’t fit the criteria for these “Elite Russian Girls” or the “Elite Russian Girls” have some sort of psychological issue.
Samantha Ritter
I’m a cute Sweet dreaming about a real friend! If you’re an interesting man, we could chat by email, Skype, or meet in reality!
Dude I write for Damn Trojan, you can get someone lot more interesting than me Samantha. Your dream about getting a real friend is disturbing. Are all your friends imaginary? Do they tell you to burn things?
Donny Trujillo
A blue-eyed blonde in search of a man to correspond with will be happy to hear from you by email! (Skype sessions or real dates are possible)
A blue eyed blond called Donny, your either a guy or have you had a some really strange parents.
Zelma Pettit
I’m a cute Sara dreaming about a real friend! If you’re an interesting man, we could chat by email, Skype, or meet in reality!
This must be one of Samanthas “friends” as they both wrote the same thing. Sorry but I have trouble talking to people with multiple personalities, oh and what species is a “Sara”?
Simone Varner
If you are a respectable man and want to correspond with a gir1 with by email or Skype, I am probably what you need!
Sorry Simone but I’m not respectable. You just have to read my posts on this blog to know that.
Reva Bergman
I don’t believe you have never corresponded with a girl! If no, it’s high time you started!
I’m have no idea how you reached that conclusion. Sorry that I don’t reach your criteria.
There you have it, I’m not good enough for Elite Russian Girls. Of course if I did start corresponding with them, I wonder how long it be before they start giving me sob stories and begin asking me for money.
Well now I’m depressed, I saw some Spam for some antidepressants I think I’ll take up.
AIM Spam
By Graham Bateman | October 13, 2008
411-Spyware has been having erection problems…… At least according to some AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) messages they have been receiving.
If you have been having problems with spam in AIM, follow 411-Spyware’s blocking instructions at their “aim.com” and “Private Message Awaits” email post.
Everyone else can laugh at them for using AIM. Oops, did I say outloud?
“Question about Item — Respond Now” eBay Email
I wasn’t aware I even was selling something on eBay, but apparently it’s being questioned.
!!!
So a “Question about Item — Respond Now” eBay Email says. But I right-clicked the link to “Respond Now”, and the link doesn’t send me to eBay.com, but http://203.113.137.190/ icons/ small/ ps1.gif/ singin.ebay.com/ ws/ eBayISPP.dll/ SignIn/ index.html?MfcISAPICommand=SignInPowerSeller&si.
That’s strange.
Almost as strange as what will happen to your credit card if you log into this phishing site so that they can steal your personal and financial information.
Emails pretending to link to legit sites are popular ways to steal your account information, so they can steal your money.
Another damn day, another damn scam.

“Google AdWords Account Suspension Notification” Email
I wasn’t aware I even had a Google Adwords account, but apparently it’s about to be suspended.
!!!
So a “Google AdWords Account Suspension Notification” Email says. But I right-clicked the link to “Renew Now your Google Search Advertising services”, and the link doesn’t send me to Google.com, but http://adwordssources.com/ad-google-pages/Login.htm.
